Knott's Peanuts Celebration 2019
Knott’s Berry Farm, Buena Park, CA
Hey guys! Intern here. Jim wanted to ship me up to California’s Great America for the weekend. He said something about ‘vegan hippie NorCal burritos’, and I was all in on trying to find the best ones. So, I hopped a plane and flew right on up!
As it turns out, I wound up flying around L.A. for like, an hour before landing back down at John Wayne. I thought it was an event up north, but turns out it’s actually at Knott’s Berry Farm. So I guess I wasted time, but eventually made it over to Berryland.
PS: Sorry posting this super late. Jim cut off my internet because I was streaming too many My Little Pony episodes.
So as invited guests to the celebration, we got to check out the food. Which, if you haven’t been to this super dooper cute little party, YA NEED TO GO. They’ve expanded the days from last year, and have grown it into a really cute weekend event that’s going on now through March 10th. Also, they just posted that they added two extra days to celebrate! So head over on February 11th and 15th if you can!
As you enter the park, there’s these really adorable photo ops. You can be a jerk and pull the football out from under Charlie Brown, get pulled away by Snoopy and Linus’ blanket, or get dog germs from the dog himself. Great little touch for guests and their instastories. Gotta do it for the ‘gram!
NOW ONTO THE FOOD.
This year, the event expands in not only the food, but also the experience itself. But first, let’s talk about all the food. You’ve got your signature classics like the Snoopy Cookie, or Charlie Brownies, but then there’s some new treats on the block(head) such as…
Now onto RIDES AND THINGS AND RIDES.
One of the newest features is ‘Woodstock’s Birds-Eye View’. It’s a skinned overlay of the Sky Tower with a new narration from Woodstock and Franklin. It’s REALLY cute. So from here on, this post will be narrated by Woodstock and translated by me. I put it on my resume that Jim didn’t believe me, but I’m fluent in Woodstock.
So anyway…now we’ll switch over to some update info…
Next up…we’ll circle back to show off some merchandise! If you wanna rock Peanuts characters, then this is for you!
Now let’s talk about shows. First new one is SPACE BEAGLE! It’s a cute show, but honestly, a little long. They could’ve trimmed 10 minutes off and it be just as good. But overall, it’s super cute and kids’ll love it.
The premise here is that Charlie and Sally need to help Snoopy be the first dog on the moon. WILL THEY SUCCEED? ASK ROGER.
This other show is where the Peanuts characters explore the genres of music. It’s cute. That is all.
Now, because I’m lazy and don't want to caption EVERY SINGLE PHOTO (I love you about as much as Jim loves me, and that’s not much), here’s a collection of the Trip to Beagle Bonanza! It’s a really adorable ride that basically melted my heart. SEE THE PHOTOS NOW.
That’s the basic rundown of the all new PEANUTS Celebration. It’s incredibly cute, highly adorable and basically the best expansion. Knott’s is really doing a great job with these events. Boysenberry Festival is obviously great, but this is a fantastic mid-winter party to hold fans over until Springtime.
To round this out, we’ll take a look at construction of the new Calico River Rapids that’s arriving this spring!
YOU’RE STILL READING? GOOD. This is where we end the show with a silent disco. No, seriously. You’re probably reading this with your headphones on anyway, so it’s super realistic to the real thing. If you’re not listening with headphones, then well..you have the alternate experience of hearing a silent disco without being in the silent disco.
Basically that’s the summary of those that engage in Spike’s Silent Disco, or walk by Spike’s Silent Disco.
Now as a final final note, here’s some pretty photos of the park. We’re planning on covering Knott’s more. They’re honest-to-God doing a lot of really great things in the park and deserve your attention. From the PEANUTS Celebration, to capital improvements and ride enhancements like Calico River Rapids, this is a park worth a visit and paying attention to. John Storbeck and his entire crew are putting a great effort into enhancing the park, and it’s showing.
So for now, here’s pretty photos UNTIL NEXT TIME.
